Paper:
Delivery of Information to the Desktop - Outline of what is required to
achieve this, possibilities and the way forward now.
Abstract:
Paper will look at what might be achieved in terms of access, manipulation
and delivery of output from a program aimed at empowering the information
user. The paper will support the propostion that integration of computing
and library expertise holds the greatest promise. The paper will finally
present a blueprint for how this can happen now.
CURRICULUM VITAE:
Since 1965, involved in a wide range of managerial positions; from 1976,
primarily in the information services areas.
Work undertaken includes:
Development of strategic plans, personnel systems, effective committee
structures; development of a wide range of policy and procedural
documents; reviews of services offered, changes to operations; setting-up
of automation of procedures; development of management information
systems; establishment of successful business operations, effectiveness
audits, changes involving change process, team building.
Publications / Presentations:
Editor of 4 books; author of 6 articles in refereed journals since 1982;
author of 29 articles in other publications.
